The Courtyard
This project is a combination of new construction and a renovation of an existing structure. The new structure replaced a carriage building originally constructed in the late 1800’s. Renovations were completed to a 1903 brick building currently listed on the National Historic Register which is now used as a restaurant.
The mixed-use project is leased to retail tenants that opens onto the courtyard and has small offices on the second floor.
The project was developed and designed by LP3 - Leason Pomeroy, FAIA who has his office in the building. Mr. Pomeroy, founder and former owner of LPA Architects, used his architectural license to create a unique design when he added contemporary skylights to the historic buildings. A new red-brick archway was constructed between the two buildings to provide to enlarge the footprint for the second floor. New brick and vertical grain Douglas fir doors and windows are a great compliment to the original decor.
The project cost was approximately 1.3M and took 9 months for construction.
